Guide Robot

Guide robots are being developed to assist humans in navigation tasks, ranging from simple directional guidance to complex multi-robot tour guiding in uncertain environments. Current research focuses on improving human-robot interaction through advanced perception (e.g., using computer vision and depth sensors), personalized navigation strategies informed by user preferences and motion prediction, and efficient path planning algorithms (such as Monte Carlo Tree Search and large neighborhood search). These advancements aim to create safer, more intuitive, and socially acceptable robot guides, with applications spanning assistance for the visually impaired, museum tours, and general service robotics.
