Harm Free Pronoun Use
Harm-free pronoun use in natural language processing (NLP) focuses on developing language models that accurately and respectfully reflect diverse gender identities, including non-binary and neopronouns. Current research investigates biases in large language models (LLMs), such as BERT and its variants, using datasets designed to evaluate pronoun fidelity and identify gender stereotypes in various contexts, including professional settings and educational recommendations. This work is crucial for mitigating harmful biases in AI systems and promoting inclusivity in applications ranging from chatbots and machine translation to educational tools.
