High Power Laser
High-power lasers are being investigated for diverse applications, driving research into optimizing their performance and integrating them into complex systems. Current research focuses on improving control and prediction of laser behavior through machine learning techniques, including convolutional neural networks (CNNs), recurrent neural networks (RNNs, such as LSTMs and GRUs), and deep reinforcement learning (DRL), often applied to analyze data from various sensors (e.g., video, audio, LiDAR). These advancements are enabling more precise laser-based manufacturing processes, improved in-situ monitoring of additive manufacturing, and enhanced capabilities in fields like medical surgery and autonomous navigation.
