Holistic Perception
Holistic perception research aims to understand how systems, whether biological or artificial, process information to form a unified understanding of complex scenes or contexts, moving beyond simple feature extraction. Current research focuses on developing models that capture relationships between individual elements and the overall context, employing techniques like contrastive pre-training, temporal graph analysis, and novel wavelet transforms for image processing. This work is significant for advancing artificial intelligence, particularly in areas like video understanding and natural language processing, and for providing insights into human cognition and perception.
