Honorific Conversion
Honorific conversion research explores how artificial intelligence models, particularly large language models (LLMs) like GPT-3, process and generate text incorporating honorifics—linguistic markers of social status and politeness. Current research focuses on evaluating LLMs' ability to correctly and contextually apply honorifics in languages like Japanese, often comparing fine-tuned models against prompt-based approaches. This work is significant for advancing natural language processing and improving the cultural sensitivity and adaptability of AI systems, particularly in educational and cross-cultural communication applications.
