Human Capability
Research on human capability focuses on understanding and augmenting human cognitive and perceptual abilities, often through the lens of human-AI interaction. Current efforts involve developing quantifiable measures of human capabilities, exploring how AI can compensate for human limitations or enhance existing skills (e.g., using gaze-contingent AI), and investigating the limitations of both human and AI systems in tasks like deepfake detection and complex data analysis. This research is crucial for designing effective human-AI teams, mitigating risks associated with advanced AI, and improving the reliability and interpretability of AI systems across various domains.
