Human Centered XAI

Human-centered Explainable AI (XAI) focuses on designing and evaluating AI systems that provide explanations readily understandable and useful to diverse users, not just experts. Current research emphasizes tailoring explanations to user expertise, developing comprehensive evaluation frameworks like multi-dimensional scales assessing user experience, and moving beyond post-hoc explanations towards inherently interpretable model architectures. This user-centric approach is crucial for building trust, improving user satisfaction, and ensuring responsible AI deployment across various applications, from smart homes to healthcare.
