Human Gaze
Human gaze, the direction and focus of a person's eyes, is a rich source of information about attention, intention, and cognitive processes. Current research focuses on developing computational models, often employing convolutional neural networks and transformers, to accurately predict and interpret gaze patterns from various perspectives (first-person eye-tracking and third-person video analysis), and to understand how gaze relates to actions, object interactions, and social behaviors. This work has implications for improving human-computer interaction, diagnosing conditions like autism spectrum disorder, and enhancing the capabilities of robots to understand and respond to human cues in shared environments. Furthermore, research is exploring how gaze data can improve the efficiency of machine learning models, particularly in scenarios with limited training data.
