Human Memory
Human memory research aims to understand how humans encode, store, and retrieve information, with a current focus on bridging the gap between biological and artificial memory systems. Researchers are exploring various model architectures, including those inspired by the hippocampus and neocortex, to improve the efficiency and accuracy of information retrieval in large language models (LLMs) and other AI systems. This work has implications for advancing AI capabilities, particularly in areas like question answering and multimodal interaction, and also offers valuable insights into the underlying mechanisms of human cognition.
