Human Reviewer

Human reviewers in scientific publishing are increasingly aided by, and sometimes replaced by, artificial intelligence (AI) for tasks such as screening papers, extracting data, and generating reviews. Current research focuses on developing and evaluating large language models (LLMs), particularly GPT-based architectures, for these purposes, alongside exploring methods to detect AI-generated text and mitigate biases in automated review processes. This work aims to improve the efficiency and fairness of peer review, ultimately enhancing the quality and speed of scientific publication while addressing challenges like reviewer workload and potential inconsistencies in human judgment.
