Human-to-human interaction research spans diverse areas, from analyzing conversational dynamics in healthcare messaging and translation to detecting interactions in video streams for security applications and understanding the nuances of social communication in educational settings. Current research employs various approaches, including transformer-based models for interaction detection and probabilistic models for synthesizing speech and gestures, alongside investigations into the role of dominance and theory of mind in human-agent communication. These studies aim to improve the design of human-computer interfaces, enhance understanding of social dynamics, and develop more effective tools for analyzing and interpreting human behavior in various contexts.
