Human Trafficking
Human trafficking is a global problem, and research focuses on leveraging data science and machine learning to improve detection and intervention. Current efforts concentrate on analyzing diverse data sources, including online advertisements, social media posts, and survivor narratives, using techniques like natural language processing, computer vision, and graph-based methods to identify patterns and extract key information such as trafficking routes and perpetrator networks. These advancements aim to enhance law enforcement capabilities and contribute to more effective anti-trafficking strategies, ultimately assisting in the identification and rescue of victims and the disruption of trafficking operations.
