Illumination Condition

Illumination condition research focuses on accurately modeling and manipulating light in images and 3D scenes, aiming to improve the robustness and realism of computer vision systems. Current efforts concentrate on developing novel algorithms and model architectures, such as diffusion models, Gaussian splatting, and neural radiance fields (NeRFs), to disentangle illumination from material properties and achieve realistic relighting under diverse conditions. This research is crucial for advancing applications like image enhancement, object recognition, 3D reconstruction, and autonomous systems, where accurate perception under varying lighting is essential.
