Image Storage
Image storage research focuses on optimizing efficiency, security, and sustainability of storing and retrieving vast quantities of image data. Current efforts concentrate on developing novel compression techniques, such as those leveraging generative adversarial networks (GANs) and autoencoders, to reduce storage needs and energy consumption, while simultaneously exploring privacy-preserving methods involving encryption and noise-based transformations to protect sensitive information. These advancements are crucial for addressing the growing environmental impact of digital data and ensuring the secure management of increasingly large image datasets in various applications, including medical imaging and Earth observation.
