Impulse Response

Impulse response, representing the output of a system to a brief input, is crucial for understanding and manipulating sound propagation in various environments. Current research focuses on accurately modeling and estimating impulse responses, particularly in complex acoustic spaces, using techniques like deep neural networks (including transformers and state-space models), image source methods, and differentiable ray tracing. These advancements are driving improvements in applications such as augmented/virtual reality audio, speech dereverberation, acoustic scene classification, and room equalization, ultimately leading to more realistic and immersive audio experiences.
