Inception Score
The Inception Score (IS) is a widely used metric for evaluating the quality of generative models, particularly in image generation, by assessing both the diversity and the quality of generated samples. Current research focuses on improving the robustness and reliability of IS and related metrics like Frechet Inception Distance (FID), addressing limitations in handling diverse data distributions and noisy features, and exploring alternatives such as precision-recall curves and novel metrics tailored to specific domains (e.g., time-series data). These efforts aim to provide more accurate and meaningful evaluations of generative models, ultimately advancing the development and application of these models across various fields.
