Indian Legal
Research on Indian legal AI focuses on developing and improving AI models to assist in legal processes, primarily aiming to increase efficiency and fairness within the Indian judicial system. Current research employs various deep learning architectures, including transformer-based models (like LLMs) and convolutional neural networks, often trained on large, newly-created datasets of Indian legal documents in multiple languages. This work addresses challenges such as bias mitigation, accurate judgment prediction, efficient document summarization, and improved legal question answering, with the ultimate goal of enhancing access to justice and reducing case backlogs.
