Indic script research focuses on developing and improving technologies for processing and utilizing these complex writing systems, encompassing diverse tasks like handwritten font generation, speech-to-speech translation, and signature verification. Current research employs various deep learning architectures, including transformer and encoder-decoder models, often incorporating techniques like discrete acoustic units and global semantic information to enhance accuracy and efficiency in tasks such as text recognition and transliteration. This work is crucial for bridging the digital divide, preserving linguistic diversity, and enabling wider access to technology for speakers of Indic languages, impacting fields ranging from cultural heritage preservation to human-computer interaction.
