Indy Autonomous Challenge
The Indy Autonomous Challenge (IAC) is a competition pushing the boundaries of autonomous vehicle technology by staging high-speed races with full-sized racecars. Current research focuses on robust perception (using sensor fusion from lidar, radar, and cameras), high-performance planning and control algorithms (including model predictive control and deep learning approaches like convolutional neural networks and transformers), and resilient navigation systems capable of handling localization failures at extreme speeds. The IAC serves as a valuable testbed for developing and validating advanced autonomous driving technologies, accelerating progress in areas crucial for safer and more efficient self-driving systems in diverse and challenging environments.
