Informal Language
Informal language, encompassing slang, colloquialisms, and online communication styles, is a growing focus in computational linguistics and artificial intelligence, aiming to improve natural language processing (NLP) systems' ability to understand and generate such language. Current research emphasizes developing robust models, including transformer-based architectures and convolutional neural networks, to handle the unique challenges posed by informal language's variability and lack of standardized structure, often using large curated datasets of informal text. This work is crucial for enhancing applications like machine translation, sentiment analysis, and code generation, bridging the gap between human communication and machine understanding.
