Infrared Domain
Infrared imaging offers unique capabilities for object detection and recognition in challenging conditions, such as low light or adverse weather, driving research into improving its accuracy and reliability. Current research focuses on bridging the gap between infrared and visible light imagery through image translation techniques, often employing generative adversarial networks (GANs) and diffusion probabilistic models (DDPMs) to enhance performance in applications like pedestrian detection and maritime surveillance. These advancements are crucial for improving the performance of autonomous systems, security applications, and other areas where visible light imaging is insufficient.
