Intracranial Meningioma

Intracranial meningiomas, the most common primary brain tumors in adults, are the focus of intense research aimed at improving diagnosis and treatment planning. Current efforts leverage deep learning algorithms, particularly in automated segmentation of multiparametric MRI scans, to delineate tumor sub-regions (enhancing, non-enhancing, and surrounding hyperintensity) with high accuracy, as demonstrated by recent challenges achieving state-of-the-art performance. This improved segmentation facilitates more precise radiotherapy planning and potentially enhances patient outcomes, while also highlighting the critical need for robust anonymization techniques in large datasets used for model training to protect patient privacy.
