Joint Action
Joint action, the coordinated behavior of multiple agents toward a shared goal, is a burgeoning research area focusing on understanding and improving human-human, human-robot, and even multi-robot collaboration. Current research emphasizes developing models and algorithms that account for inconsistent beliefs among agents, enabling effective coordination despite imperfect information or communication, as seen in belief space planning and interactive inference frameworks. This work has significant implications for designing safer and more efficient human-robot teams, improving human-computer interaction in virtual and augmented reality, and advancing our understanding of social behavior in both biological and artificial systems.
