Korean Universal Morphology
Korean Universal Morphology (KUM) research aims to create comprehensive and standardized resources for analyzing and processing the Korean language's complex morphology. Current efforts focus on developing large-scale datasets like K-UniMorph, improving grammatical error correction systems through annotated corpora and novel algorithms, and investigating how well language models capture nuanced aspects of Korean morphology, including discourse-level meanings and prosodic features crucial for accurate speech-to-text translation. These advancements are vital for improving natural language processing tools for Korean and furthering our understanding of cross-linguistic morphological phenomena.
