Language Community

Language community research investigates how language use varies across groups, focusing on factors like geographic location, time, and social context. Current research employs transformer-based models and mixture-of-experts architectures to address challenges in low-resource language translation, code-switching speech recognition, and cross-lingual toxicity detection. This work is crucial for developing inclusive natural language processing technologies, improving cross-cultural communication, and understanding the dynamics of language evolution and change within and between communities.
