Larval Zebrafish
Larval zebrafish are increasingly used as a model organism in biomedical research, primarily to study development, disease, and drug efficacy. Current research focuses on developing automated, high-throughput methods for analyzing larval zebrafish behavior and physiology, often employing machine learning techniques such as deep learning (including transfer learning) and particle filters to overcome challenges in image analysis and data interpretation. These advancements enable more efficient and accurate quantification of cardiovascular function and behavioral phenotypes, facilitating large-scale screening and improving the understanding of disease mechanisms and therapeutic responses.
