Legal AI
Legal AI focuses on developing and applying artificial intelligence techniques to legal tasks, aiming to improve efficiency, accessibility, and accuracy within the legal system. Current research emphasizes retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, leveraging large language models (LLMs) combined with knowledge graphs and other domain-specific knowledge sources to address challenges like hallucinations and outdated information. This work is significant because it has the potential to automate various legal processes, from legal research and document drafting to judgment prediction and charge classification, ultimately impacting both legal professionals and the public through improved access to justice and more efficient legal services.
