Legal Analysis

Legal analysis is undergoing a transformation driven by advancements in artificial intelligence, particularly large language models (LLMs), aiming to automate and enhance tasks like case retrieval, legal document generation, and bias detection. Current research focuses on developing and evaluating LLMs for these tasks, often employing techniques like graph-based algorithms (e.g., LexRank) and transformer models for information retrieval and generation, while also addressing the challenges of "hallucinations" and ensuring alignment with human expert reasoning using frameworks like IRAC. This work holds significant implications for improving legal efficiency and accessibility, though challenges remain in ensuring accuracy, mitigating biases, and addressing the legal and ethical implications of AI in the legal field.
