Lens Model
Lens modeling focuses on accurately representing the complex optical properties of camera lenses to improve image quality and downstream computer vision tasks. Current research emphasizes developing differentiable lens models, often incorporating neural networks, to enable end-to-end optimization of the entire image formation process, from lens design to image processing. This allows for joint optimization of lens parameters and downstream algorithms, leading to improved performance in applications like 3D reconstruction and object detection. Such advancements are significant for improving the accuracy and efficiency of various imaging systems and computer vision applications.
