Lesion Image

Lesion image analysis focuses on automatically identifying and characterizing lesions (abnormal tissue regions) within medical images, primarily to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning. Current research heavily utilizes deep learning, employing convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and transformer-based architectures, often incorporating techniques like instance segmentation and attention mechanisms to improve accuracy and address challenges such as class imbalance and limited data. This work is significant because it offers the potential to improve diagnostic accuracy, reduce inter-observer variability, and enhance the efficiency of medical workflows across various applications, including dermatology, oncology, and nephrology.
