LIF Neuron
Leaky Integrate-and-Fire (LIF) neurons are a fundamental computational model in spiking neural networks (SNNs), mimicking the behavior of biological neurons to process information through spikes. Current research focuses on improving LIF neuron models for enhanced performance and efficiency in various applications, including developing variations like context-based and adaptive threshold LIF neurons to address limitations in convergence speed, robustness to adversarial attacks, and energy consumption. These advancements are driving progress in SNN applications such as gesture recognition, EEG classification, and sequential modeling, offering potential for more energy-efficient and biologically plausible artificial intelligence.
