Local Dynamic Map
Local Dynamic Maps (LDMs) are real-time representations of a vehicle's immediate surroundings, integrating sensor data to model dynamic objects like vehicles and pedestrians and static elements like roads and intersections. Current research focuses on improving the accuracy and robustness of LDMs, particularly for risk assessment in challenging scenarios such as intersections with limited visibility, using techniques like graph-based representations, Bayesian inference, and ray casting to predict potential collisions and optimize safe trajectories. This work is crucial for advancing the development of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving, enhancing safety and efficiency in complex traffic environments.
