Low Density Parity Check

Low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes are powerful error-correcting codes used in various communication systems, primarily aiming to achieve reliable data transmission by efficiently detecting and correcting errors introduced during transmission. Current research focuses on improving decoding efficiency and reliability through novel algorithms like belief propagation and graph neural networks, as well as exploring the use of deep learning models such as transformers for unified decoding architectures and boosted neural decoders to mitigate the error floor phenomenon. These advancements are crucial for enabling ultra-reliable and low-latency communication in next-generation networks like 6G, and also find applications in areas such as quantum computing and image compression.
