Lung Nodule Localization
Lung nodule localization aims to automatically identify the precise location of lung nodules in medical images like chest X-rays and CT scans, aiding in early cancer detection. Current research heavily utilizes deep learning, employing convolutional neural networks (CNNs) in various architectures such as encoder-decoder networks and YOLOv5, often incorporating techniques to improve efficiency and robustness, such as self-ensembling and rib suppression. These advancements offer the potential to significantly improve the speed and accuracy of lung cancer diagnosis, assisting radiologists and ultimately leading to better patient outcomes.
