Magnesium Alloy
Magnesium alloys are increasingly studied for their potential in biomedical implants and other applications, driven by their biocompatibility and lightweight nature, but hampered by relatively low mechanical strength. Current research focuses on improving alloy design through advanced computational methods, such as machine learning and thermodynamic calculations, to predict and optimize mechanical properties like yield strength. Furthermore, deep learning techniques, including object detection frameworks, are being employed to enhance quality control by automating the detection of internal defects in magnesium alloy castings using X-ray imaging. These advancements aim to accelerate the development of high-performance magnesium alloys for diverse applications.
