Magnetic Navigation
Magnetic navigation aims to determine location and orientation using Earth's magnetic field, offering a GPS-independent alternative for various applications. Current research focuses on improving accuracy and robustness by addressing challenges like weak signal detection in noisy environments, employing machine learning techniques such as random forests and liquid time-constant networks for signal processing and compensation, and developing novel algorithms for handling dynamic conditions and uncertainty. These advancements are significant for enhancing navigation in GPS-denied areas, improving the precision of autonomous systems, and enabling minimally invasive surgical procedures.
