Magnitude Only Reflectivity Image

Magnitude-only reflectivity imaging focuses on extracting and utilizing the intensity information from reflected signals, discarding the phase component, to create images representing the reflectivity of a scene. Current research emphasizes using this data for improved object detection and classification in various applications, employing deep learning architectures like U-Nets and GANs, along with physics-based initial stages for enhanced accuracy and efficiency. This approach shows promise for advancing fields such as autonomous driving (through LiDAR data processing), industrial inspection (via smartphone microscopy), and remote sensing (in applications like SAR tomography and weather prediction), offering faster and more robust solutions compared to traditional methods.
