Marine Cloud Brightening
Marine Cloud Brightening (MCB) is a proposed climate intervention technique aiming to reflect more sunlight back into space by increasing the brightness of marine clouds, thereby cooling the planet. Current research focuses on developing and refining AI-driven models, including neural networks and applications of the Fluctuation-Dissipation Theorem, to efficiently simulate and analyze the complex interactions between MCB interventions and climate patterns, overcoming the limitations of computationally expensive Earth System Models. This work is crucial for understanding the potential benefits and risks of MCB, informing future climate mitigation strategies and providing a more comprehensive assessment of its impact on regional and global climate.
