Marine Fog
Marine fog presents a significant hazard to maritime operations, driving research into improved detection and forecasting methods. Current research focuses on leveraging machine learning, particularly deep learning architectures like conditional generative adversarial networks (cGANs) and ensemble methods, to analyze multi-modal datasets encompassing satellite imagery, meteorological observations, and numerical weather predictions, surpassing the accuracy of traditional models. These advancements aim to enhance the reliability of sea fog predictions, ultimately improving maritime safety and economic efficiency by mitigating the risks associated with reduced visibility.
