Medical Dialogue Generation

Medical dialogue generation (MDG) focuses on creating computer systems capable of engaging in natural and informative conversations with patients about their health concerns. Current research emphasizes improving the accuracy and fluency of these systems, particularly by incorporating multimodal data (images, text), leveraging large language models (LLMs) and advanced prompting techniques, and explicitly modeling the reasoning process behind medical diagnoses. This field is significant for its potential to enhance healthcare access and efficiency by providing patients with readily available, accurate medical information and assisting clinicians in diagnosis and treatment planning.
