Medium STORM
Medium STORM, or "media storm," refers to the intense, widespread media attention focused on a particular event or issue over a relatively short period. Current research focuses on developing methods to automatically detect and analyze these events within large news corpora, often employing unsupervised anomaly detection and computational linguistic techniques to track the spread of information and identify key linguistic features. This research aims to better understand the dynamics of media attention, including the mechanisms driving these events and their impact on public discourse and agenda-setting, contributing to a more nuanced understanding of information dissemination and societal influence.
