Mixed Method
Mixed methods research combines qualitative and quantitative approaches to investigate complex phenomena, aiming for a more comprehensive understanding than either method alone can provide. Current research focuses on leveraging this approach in diverse fields, including AI ethics, education, healthcare, and public health, often employing large language models (LLMs) for analysis of textual or other data alongside traditional survey or interview methods. This integrated approach enhances the validity and generalizability of findings, leading to more nuanced insights and informing the development of more effective interventions and policies across various domains. The resulting richer datasets and analyses are proving invaluable for addressing complex societal challenges.
