Mobile Photography

Mobile photography research focuses on enhancing image quality and efficiency on resource-constrained mobile devices. Current efforts concentrate on developing lightweight neural network architectures, such as variations of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and Vision Transformers, for tasks like image restoration, aberration correction, and bokeh rendering, often incorporating techniques like knowledge distillation and model simplification to improve speed and performance. These advancements aim to bridge the gap between the capabilities of professional cameras and mobile devices, leading to improved image processing pipelines and more aesthetically pleasing photos for everyday users.
