Moire Pattern
Moiré patterns, unwanted interference patterns arising when imaging screens, significantly degrade image quality and pose challenges for various applications, including deepfake detection. Current research focuses on developing efficient and robust "demoirering" algorithms, employing techniques like fully connected encoder-decoder networks, channel-wise shape-guided networks, and attention-aware architectures to remove these artifacts from images and videos, often leveraging both RAW and sRGB data for improved color correction. These advancements are crucial for improving the accuracy of image analysis tasks and enabling high-quality image capture in everyday scenarios, particularly with the increasing resolution of mobile phone cameras.
