Morphable Face Model

Morphable face models (3DMMs) are powerful tools for representing and manipulating 3D facial geometry and appearance, aiming to create realistic and controllable virtual faces. Current research focuses on improving the realism and expressiveness of these models, often integrating them with neural radiance fields (NeRFs) or implicit neural representations to capture fine details and handle complex expressions from limited input data, such as a few images or a short video. This leads to advancements in applications like novel view synthesis, avatar creation, and facial reenactment, impacting fields ranging from computer graphics and animation to forensic science and virtual reality.
