Motion Detection
Motion detection research aims to accurately and efficiently identify movement in various contexts, from robotic manipulation to human activity monitoring. Current efforts focus on developing robust and low-cost sensor systems (e.g., infrared, thermal, mmWave radar, and even WiFi signals), coupled with advanced algorithms like Dynamic Mode Decomposition, spiking neural networks, and optical flow analysis, to process the resulting data. These advancements are driving improvements in applications ranging from autonomous driving and smart home systems to healthcare monitoring and assistive technologies for individuals with motor impairments.
