Multilingual Lexicon
Multilingual lexicons, encompassing dictionaries and thesauri across multiple languages, aim to improve cross-lingual information access and understanding. Current research focuses on automatically generating and enriching these lexicons, often leveraging multilingual language models (like BERT and XLM-R) and employing techniques such as cross-encoder reranking and contrastive learning to improve accuracy and efficiency, particularly for low-resource languages. This work is crucial for advancing natural language processing tasks like machine translation, sentiment analysis, and plagiarism detection, while also shedding light on linguistic diversity and cross-lingual relationships.
