Multispectral Filter Array
Multispectral filter arrays (MSFAs) enable cameras to capture multiple spectral bands simultaneously, creating a raw mosaic image requiring demosaicing to reconstruct a full multispectral image. Current research focuses on improving demosaicing algorithms, particularly using deep learning architectures like transformers and convolutional neural networks, to achieve efficient and accurate spectral reconstruction while mitigating artifacts and computational demands. This work is driven by the need for improved accuracy in spectral data recovery, leading to advancements in various fields including hyperspectral imaging for medical and agricultural applications, and longwave infrared imaging for object identification and thermal analysis. The development of efficient and robust demosaicing techniques is crucial for realizing the full potential of multispectral imaging technologies.
