Music Genre Classification
Music genre classification aims to automatically categorize music into genres using computational methods, primarily to improve music recommendation systems and information retrieval. Current research emphasizes the development of robust models, often employing deep learning architectures like convolutional neural networks (CNNs), recurrent neural networks (RNNs, including GRUs), and hybrid approaches combining CNNs with RNNs, as well as exploring multimodal approaches that integrate audio and textual data (e.g., lyrics). These advancements are crucial for enhancing user experience in music streaming services and broader music information retrieval applications, driving ongoing efforts to improve accuracy and efficiency, particularly in low-resource settings.
