Music Meta Ontology
Music meta-ontologies aim to create standardized, semantic models for representing diverse music metadata, enabling better integration and analysis of music data across various sources and formats. Current research focuses on developing flexible ontologies that capture the complex relationships between musical concepts, encompassing aspects from symbolic notation to audio performance, and employing techniques like ontology design patterns to ensure interoperability. This work is crucial for advancing music information retrieval, facilitating cross-disciplinary research, and enabling the development of innovative applications such as music-driven animation and gesture generation, as demonstrated by recent work using diffusion models.
